Need to pay a TOLL NOTICE?
Frequent user? Get a tag.
Infrequent user? Get a pass.
All toll roads in NSW are now cash-less, meaning they are monitored electronically, you cannot pay at the toll booth with cash/card anymore. You must either have an electronic Tag, or have purchased an electronic Pass, in order to use NSW toll roads. If you happen to use a toll road in NSW and do not have either a Tag or Pass, do not fret, a toll Notice will be sent to the registered owner of the vehicle. The toll system uses cameras at the toll point to photograph the registration plate of your vehicle. The other option is to buy a Pass, after the fact. Just make sure you don’t leave it too long, or else you’ll be sent the Notice, which comes with added administration fees.
If you are a frequent user of toll roads, it is suggested you purchase a Tag, for your convenience. Don’t forget to keep an eye on your spending, as with all “auto payment” systems, it is easy to lose track of your spending thanks to no physical cash coming out of your physical pocket.
If you are an infrequent user of toll roads, it is suggested you purchase a Pass, for those random times you happen to use the toll road. These are great for tourists and other visitors to the state of NSW.
